This Month We will be showing Walter Hill's 1979 American cult action film, The Warriors.
The Warriors takes place in New York City, where Cyrus, the leader of the most powerful gang in New York calls a midnight summit for all the area gangs. Including The Warriors, from Coney Island. The eloquent and intelligent Cyrus tells the assembled crowd that a permanent citywide truce would allow the gangs to control the city, pointing out there are three times as many gang members than there are officers in the NYPD. During the assembly, Cyrus is assassinated and The Warriors are falsely accused of the murder.
With 60,000 gang members out to kill them, The Warriors must make their way home from the South Bronx all the way back to Coney Island.
